I think it has to do with not getting your body overheated, that’s why hot tubs are so bad. Hot water in the shower should be fine unless you are in there so long your body temp starts to rise.

I loved hot hot showers too, if i want a hot shower i try and leave the door open for ventilation and don’t aim it at my tummy! But for the most part i don’t have hot hot showers or baths.
Hot tubs are bad, they increase your body temp as well as the baby’s so i would stay away from those!
You can use hot water, but make sure that it’s not causing your skin to go red, and don’t stay in too too long!
That’s what i’ve done and my doctor hasn’t said a word to me!

Ok, you do not want to take a super hot bath or shower as it elevates the baby’s temperature. However baths are ok, I took baths that were comfortably warm (your feet and hands should not turn red when you get into the shower or tub that’s a sign it is too hot) that myth about infections is just that, a myth. I have two healthy kids and I am a bath lover took baths until my water broke. No hot tubs, def. not recommended. Warm showers are fine, but not super hot.

  4. the problem with hot showers, saunas, baths, heatpacks ect is overheating and studies have indicated that having these in pregnancy can increase the incidence of birth defects… best thing is to talk to your doctor about it (everyones definition of hot is different…)
and make sure its not so hot that you sweat (or worse that you cant sweat) and keep your fluids up to make sure you dont dehydrate as this is really bad for the baby x

I’m 34 weeks pregnant and i take hot baths sometimes. It makes my body feel so much better in that hot water. Of course you dont want to stay in there too long bc the hot water can make your body temp rise, which will cause the babies body temp to rise. Not so good. I think hot tubs are worse than just a hot bath or shower bc hot tubs get much hotter than a shower. Don’t worry too much. You and the baby will be fine

a shower is not bad i take hot hot showers. my doctors wont allow me to take a bath because they say it can cause an infection. it doesnt matter if its hot water or cold, its jus the fact of taking a bath. you can look up on it. ask your doctors.

  7. They just don’t want the water to get to hot. hot tubes are fine if you’re controlling the temp, or are in it for a short period of time.

  8. they dont want you in hot tubs and not showering with super hot remmember when your hot the baby is hot so shower with warm .
