Should I Jump Into A Hot Tub Right After A Hard Run?

I’ve been hearing mixed “reviews” on applying heat after a run, but I have quick access to a hot tub and I was wondering if it would be beneficial to me to get into a hot tub right after a cool down. Okay, thanks!

Not right away. Heat is better once the muscles are sore several hours later. Right after, practice and cool down, ice is best.

After Track practice, my team usually took turns sticking their legs in a large bucket of ice water to prevent any injuries that might be forming.
Plus, I vaguely remember reading somewhere that it’s better for your muscles if you don’t soak in a hot shower/bath when trying to relax though it may feel good at the moment. Because once you get out of the shower/bath, your muscles will become cold and tense up. Thus, rendering any attempts of relaxation useless.
