What Is The Longest Recommended Length For Filter Hoses On An Above Ground Swimming Pool?

We have an 18X34′ above ground swimming pool and I would like to put the filter toward the deep end instead of the shallow end for better water circulation. I’d like to do this without having to pay to have the electrical box moved.

I am closing my above-ground pool for winter and I have been trying to disconnect the hoses but they are really stuck onto their connections tightly! Is there a trick to loosening them so I can remove them?
